The Caxton Theatre
1 followerWe are the only local amateur theatre with our own premises. The Caxton Players have been watering the ‘cultural desert’ in this area since 1943, for the last 40 plus years at our present location 128 Cleethorpe Road. We present a variety of plays – comedy, drama, thrillers etc – 8 per year in our main theatre and others in our Studio Bar. Visiting performers may hire our bar and we also hire it out for other events, from workshops to wakes, subject to availability.
The Caxton Theatre is run entirely by volunteers and receives no funding; our ticket sales are our main source of income. We are possibly the best value night out in the area, with all tickets £10 or under and a very reasonable bar. There is free parking in the car parks on Orwell Street. We employ security to keep the vehicles safe. Our theatre is accessible to all.
