Who’s in charge?
In May this year, things in Lincolnshire are going to change, and exactly who is leading that change will almost certainly have an impact on your business.
In the biggest reorganisation in decades, Greater Lincolnshire will go to the polls in May and elect a Mayor. This is no ceremonial mayor, the person chosen will oversee hundreds of millions of pounds of Government funding and have powers that cover transport, housing, skills and investment to shape the very future of the area.
The business community across Lincolnshire has their lives invested in the area and is responsible for the livelihoods of thousands of employees. The Business Hive thinks they should have the opportunity to question the candidates vying for your vote to secure this important and influential position.
On Wednesday 12th March, on stage at the Parkway Cinema, three candidates will be preparing to face a “business only” audience and answer the questions put to them. They will be joined by a leading business representative, Chris Carr, who is sure to provide a different perspective on things.
In true Question Time style, they will not know the questions beforehand and our experienced Chair, Mark Webb, will keep order and ensure those questions are answered in full.
Chris Carr, Managing Director of Carr & Carr (Builders) Ltd, will also join the panel. Chris’ insights as a leader of a family-owned housing development and construction company, with over 100 years of history and a strong affiliation with the Federation of Master Builders, will be invaluable.
This is a free event open to all businesses across Greater Lincolnshire. Doors open for networking at 5:30pm before the main event at 6pm. The night will conclude at 8pm.
Will Greater Lincolnshire be run by a Conservative Mayor like Ben Houcham or a Labour Mayor like Tracy Brabin? Perhaps we will be the first region to elect a Reform Mayor?
